Google Messages has a new feature that’s been spotted. The company has dozens and dozens of different services and apps and it’s technically no surprise that some of them would actually duplicate each other. In fact, the company is now pretty notorious for having a lot of different messaging platforms and apps.
Google Messages New Feature
In addition to all of the confusion and even the lack of long-term guarantees, this would mean that Google, most of the time, has to start once again from scratch for every particularly new feature. According to SlashGear, Google Messages will finally be getting a feature that is already popular with the basic Google Gmail. Introducing (or basically reintroducing) the pinned and starred messages.
Even discounting the popular classic old SMS, people have still been sending messages to one another either through plain text or the old rich ones almost non-stop for years and years. The messaging apps are most probably filled with messages that could date back for years and years.
Google Messages APK Reveals New Feature
The most important features can actually be a bit tricky and the organizational features like the starred and pinned messages help users sort out their messages through all the chaos within the messaging apps. Although it has not yet officially been confirmed, XDA developers discovered some pieces of evidence in text form in the Google Messages APK suggesting a new feature that is finally coming to Google’s latest platform.
One particular feature will allow users to simply pin up to three messages somewhere on the top of the app in order for them to be quickly accessed in comparison to other less important ones. XDA also notes that the actual number can actually still change when the official feature will be rolled out by Google.

Google Gmail Feature Pin and Star
Starred messages, on the other hand, might be able to simply mark certain messages as “special” for its users to see. They will also rise to the top of the list but might still be easily found within the Google Search filters. Either way, it will ease some of the pain which would be involved in scrolling though thousands of different messages.
The question now is less of if the features will launch but rather when they will launch on the Google Messaging application. Even if the strings are already in the app as of the moment, there is still no guarantee as to whether or not they are coming soon or even at all.
SlashGear notes that it would be a shame, though, if it would then not come since the Google messaging apps could use the help of the feature just like Google Gmail would. The new feature would help users organize messages much easier and allow them to read the messages based on importance instead of just how recent they were sent or received.
